Into this army of “Health Transformers” we now welcome ten new companies, each working to achieve one of our 10 Health Moonshots — from improving access to care to improving women’s health. These ten companies also expand StartUp Health’s global footprint in important ways, with startups innovating in Pakistan, Finland, Germany, and across the United States.

Moonshot: Access to Care

Syed Abrar Ahmed, Inam ul Haq, Muhammad Taha and Syed Rehan Uddin, founders of Azaad Health, are on a mission to prevent every death and suffering caused by medical errors. AzaadHealth is the first global blockchain-powered data exchange network not based on crypto coins or mining that congregates an individual’s medical data from multiple sources into one platform available to share with insurance providers, researchers, doctors and family.

Cubismi
Moonshot: Access to Care

Moira Schieke, MD, founder of Cubismi, and team are revolutionizing medical imaging with super-precision imaging tailored for each person. Cubismi’s My Virtual Body One File™ (aka “One File”) organizes dispersed medical images and other clinical data into a singular framework for precision analytics of a patient’s body. A Bio-Map of each person’s body will act like a “Google Maps” for augmented clinical decision-making by doctors. Cubismi will create high quality data for its system by putting the power of patient health big data into the hands of people and their doctors.

eHealthAnalytics
Moonshot: Access to Care

Gail Port and Jacqueline Laver, founders of eHealthAnalytics, are on a mission to use machine learning and decision intelligence to predict the behavior and safety of medical devices. Their platform, Pythia PREDICT™, will help enable superior outcomes, while reducing costs, and mitigating risk, providing a distinct value proposition for device manufacturers, providers, payers, and patients. Their device recall prototype achieved a 98.5% accuracy rate when analyzed against FDA data.

Electronic Health Network
Moonshot: Access to Care

Charles Williams, Hal Gilreath and Aadli Abdul Kareem of Electronic Health Network are empowering clinicians by eliminating the barriers of data access. Their medical interoperability network (MiNT) allows for the secure sharing of protected health information and delivers data and records to physicians and nurses so that their primary focus can be on providing care. In a study with Prince George County, they reduced readmissions by 44%, hospital visits by 42% and costs by 35%.

genneve
Moonshot: Women’s Health

Jill Angelo, founder of genneve, is empowering all women in menopause to take control of their symptoms. Genneve’s digital health solution offers women individualized health plans and access to telehealth physicians vetted through the North American Menopause Society via a phone, tablet or computer to help relieve menopause symptoms. In less than 6 months, the company now has 25,000 subscribers.

LeaLabs
Moonshot: Access to Care

Deepak Patri and Madhav Puvvena, founders of LEA Labs, are improving population health management with a focus on chronic conditions by capturing all relevant patient related conversations across islands of information silos and provide a unified view of data controlled by the patient. Their platform is using blockchain and AI technology to provide targeted and customizable portals and apps to enable proactive interventions and improve health outcomes.

Quantextual.co
Moonshot: Access to Care

Satvinder “Pearly” Dhingra and Richard Ellis, founders of Quantextual, are making big data more useful to physicians. Quantextual.co is a white label R&D platform for discovery, design, development and delivery of highly automated and dynamically precise digital therapeutics . Quantextual.co equips, enables, engages and empowers participants with data and tools to modify habits of diet, exercise, or sleep to optimize personal health. Client branded platforms powered by Quantextual.co are already being used at organizations such as Emory and Grady, Temple and Shriners, Interactive Autism Network at John Hopkins for CDC and the University of Washington for NIH.

Swift Shift
Moonshot: Cost to Zero

Assaf Shalvi, founder of Swift Shift, is dedicated to solving the Nurse and Caregiver shortage for Home Healthcare agencies. Swift Shift’s recruitment marketplace and workforce management platform matches trained nurses with convenient home health shifts. For one of the largest home care agencies in the country, Bayada, Swift Shift matches nurses based on a set list of criteria, and integrates across multiple agencies, giving nurses the ability to filter based on preference, while helping administrators fill all of their open shifts. The result? Patients get caregivers who are a better match for them, and who show up!

Trusty.care
Moonshot: Access to Care, Longevity

Jo Schneier, founder of Trusty.care, is on a mission to ensure that any person, rich or poor, will have access to the right government financial resources. Trusty.care delivers a streamlined platform that aims to help 70 million Americans ages 65 and older identify and sign up for the correct Medicare, Medicaid and Medigap plans.

YourCoach
Moonshot: Access to Care, Nutrition & Fitness

Marina Borukhovich and Dan Kogan, founders of YourCoach, are on a mission to help 9 billion people live healthy lifestyles by giving health coaches superpowers. YourCoach is an administrative and client management solution that empowers health coaches to build their businesses while surrounding their clients with the expertise needed to live a healthy life. By organizing a practice through YourCoach, health coaches can manage both administrative and client wellness aspects of coaching, allowing for better client care, improved coach mentorship and lead gen — regardless of location. Keep an eye out for their public launch in fall 2018.
